For Spaces That
Make Us Human

INTERIOR DESIGN BY LUCINDA KANG

WHISTLER, CANADA - COMPLETED

03 / APPROACH

Design begins
before design.

People often arrive with an answer: a style, an image, a room they think they want. We begin with the questions underneath it.

Through a series of thoughtful conversations, Lucinda helps you notice how you live now, what no longer fits and what you are reaching towards. The brief emerges from that understanding. Sometimes the answer is a new plan. Sometimes it is permission to keep what already matters.

Intuition is central to the work, but it is not guesswork. It is close observation—of a person, a place, its constraints and its unrealised possibilities.

01 / COMPLETED

Different lives.
Different answers.

No house style. No signature imposed.
What connects the work is the search
for what is true to the people and place.

The house
that breathes

SINGAPORE . RESIDENTIAL RENOVATION

Two existing structures were treated not as sealed boxes but as parts of one living landscape. Walls gave way to airflow; planting became privacy; rooms became places of passage, pause and encounter.

LANDSCAPE INTEGRATION

FURNITURE & STYLING

WHISTLER, CANADA . NEW BUILD

A frame for the forest

Architecture and interiors recede so the landscape can remain the most powerful presence in the room.

CHICAGO, USA . APARTMENT RENOVATION

A joyful division

Separating a 3-unit apartment into two. A restrained urban interior made personal through warmth, art and the evidence of a life already lived.

02 / UPCOMING

KOH SAMUI, THAILAND

REST,
REPAIR & REIMAGINING

A house for

Follow a home from an untouched hillside and a set of questions through design, landscape and making.

04 / WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER

One beginning.
Whatever the

project needs.

Every engagement starts with coached discovery. Where it goes next depends on what we uncover together.

01

CLARITY & DIRECTION

Design coaching

A guided series of conversations to move beyond the first answer and uncover what you truly want your home to make possible. This can stand alone or become the foundation of a larger project.

02

IDEAS TO PLAN

Concept & spatial direction

A coherent design idea translated into layout, atmosphere, material direction and a practical roadmap you can implement yourself or with a local team.

03

CONCEPT TO COMPLETION

Complete interior design

End-to-end design shaped around the project: planning, interior architecture, finishes, furniture, lighting, art, objects and collaboration with architects, contractors and specialists.

04

WORLDWIDE

Design from anywhere

International coaching and concept work delivered remotely, or in person, with collaboration and site involvement calibrated to the location, scope and team already in place.

You do not need to arrive knowing.

That’s where the work begins.

03 / LUCINDA KANG

A designer of spaces—and the conversations that reveal them.

Lucinda Kang founded The Human Project Studio on the belief that a home is not a composition of beautiful things. It is an active participant in a human life.

Her work moves between coaching, interior design and spatial strategy. Rather than begin with an aesthetic prescription, she listens for the tensions, habits, histories and hopes that a conventional brief often misses. The result is not a recognisable “Lucinda Kang look,” but a place recognisable to the person who lives there.

Working internationally across new builds, renovations and existing homes, Lucinda can provide a focused outside perspective or remain with a project from its earliest questions through completion.

05 / BEGIN

Tell me about the space.
Then tell me about the life.

You do not need a finished brief. A home, a possibility and an honest first conversation are enough.
