PHILOSOPHY

Space for a Fuller Life

At The Human Project Studio, we design homes around the lives unfolding within them. Every residential renovation begins by listening: to the people who will live there, to the history of the building and to the possibilities hidden in its constraints.

We believe a home should offer different ways to be. A place to come together and room to be alone. Privacy without feeling closed in. A connection to light, air and landscape that makes everyday life feel more expansive.

Our approach to interior design and home renovation works with what is already there. We open spaces where it improves the way they function, preserve the character that gives them meaning, and use materials and planting to bring warmth and life into the home.

The aim is a home that is beautiful to look at, comfortable to inhabit and able to change with the people who live in it.

METHODOLOGY

Design Begins with Listening

At The Human Project Studio, every home renovation begins with a conversation about life, not finishes. We ask how you use your space, what no longer works and what you hope your home could make possible. Often, the most important part of the interior design brief is the question no one has asked yet.

Next, we study the property itself: its layout, structure, natural light, airflow, landscape and history. We look for what can be retained, what needs to change and where a constraint might reveal an unexpected opportunity.

We then develop a design that considers the home as a whole. How do rooms connect? Where can people gather or find privacy? How can indoor and outdoor spaces work together? We test these ideas against your priorities and budget, bringing in specialist collaborators as the project requires.

Once the direction is clear, we refine the materials, furnishings, planting and details that give the space its character. The result is a home shaped by the way you want to live—and a design process with the time and clarity to make it real.
